Dr.
Shayna Whitehouse is an expert in school psychology and
brings a lifetime of experience to Reaching Higher Education.
Dr.
Whitehouse’s collaborative approach with families
and their children defines and informs her work of supporting
a child’s academic, emotional, and behavioral success.
By combining data-driven quantitative analysis and qualitative,
in-depth sessions with each family and child, she creates
comprehensive, tailored plans for every client. This holistic,
personal approach is at the root of her clients' success.
Dr.
Whitehouse received her undergraduate degree from Case Western
Reserve University. Before earning her M.A. in Educational
Psychology and Ph.D. in School Psychology from the University
of Denver, she discovered her passion in working with children
as a volunteer in Cleveland Public Schools. For over 15
years, she has worked with children and adolescents with
diverse learning and social-emotional needs in both Colorado
and California.
A
recognized expert, Dr. Whitehouse has also served on the
faculty with the Child, Family, and School Psychology program
at the University of Denver, directing the educational assessment
clinic and supervising trainees.
In
her free time, she loves taking advantage of Colorado's
many ski mountains and hiking trails with her husband and
two sons. You can also find her studying karate, where she
has earned a second degree black belt.
